Boasting tribal-inspired stripes in black against a natural sisal base, the MADINI will bring a natural sense of texture and style to any room.
Skillfully handwoven from indigenous sisal fibres, these stunning lampshades are produced in Eastern Kenya by members of a fair trade cooperative – all members of the highly creative Kamba tribe. Most of these weavers are primarily farmers, reliant on rainfall to grow crops and breed livestock. Basket weaving has become a flexible source of additional income for these people during times of drought, helping women support themselves and their families more sustainably.
Each lampshade comes with information from the weaving co-operative that made yours. Want to know more about the wonderful women behind the shades? Meet the weavers
