With four black stripes against a natural base and a partially open weave design, the PITIA lampshade will bring a splash of ethical style to any space, and produces a wonderfully soft light.
These lampshades are all woven by female members of the Kamba, a tribe renowned the world over for their handicrafts - and basketry in particular. The majority of these weavers are primarily farmers, reliant on rainfall to sow and grow crops, or rear livestock. Basket weaving within a cooperative provides a vital second income for these people during the dry seasons, helping women support their families more sustainably.
Each lampshade comes with a little information about the weaving co-operative that made yours. Want to know more about the wonderful women behind the shades? Meet the weavers
