I really like this product. It was easy to assemble, some of the holes were slightly off but nothing that can’t be worked through. One thing I didn’t like is the pull out drawers are a very dark brown that matches exactly to the unit, not a tan color as pictured. The other downfall is the safety attachment on the back for stacking units is not the best. The screws are tiny and pulling on the top unit it made it pop out and the hole was stripped so it wouldn’t go back in. I suggest getting a longer one and using that instead.Really love these stackable storage organizers. I purchased a grey one a few years ago and it has been great but now there are 3 kids and space is in short supply. Go vertical! I didn't want to wait any longer for the grey to come back in stock so I went with white. Looks good. These are really sturdy, indestructible and nice looking organizers. Our first grey one has been through a lot with my 2 little boys (now 2 and 4 years old) and it has held up really well.I wanted the second unit to have some flat shelves, because I already had bins on the bottom. The baskets that come with it are okay but they won't last with the kids. I bought a decorative box from Michael's Arts and Crafts and it fits perfectly in the slot. I also bought a larger basket to dump all of the duplo blocks. Now that I know the box and basket fit I will be going back and buying more for the other sections. These organizers are a really great purchase because they look nice, hold up well, are very sturdy and there are a lot of options for either bins, shelves, etc. I can't wait to buy some more boxes and finish sorting out the toys.If you have kids you know you need some type of shelving. We originally had baskets but they quickly got fulled and with 5-6 baskets on the floor it really starts to look messy fast. We looked for toy chests but then again once those are full you can't go higher. We thought of bookshelves or those IKEA squares shelving. but you need baskets for the toys to stay in. We finally found the perfect choice on these Badger bins, they are deeper than regular bookshelves and have the front board that help keep toys inside. It also helps that you can stack them with different models/colors so you can go crazy with the designs. They are pretty straightforward to assemble and with a portable drill you can do it relatively fast. Just make sure the parts align right. I had to make the whole deeper for the two wooden pegs so that they would go half way in as supposed to. Also one of our bins came bad from stock with the insert for the back cardboard on the wrong side, so I had to return it. But that was free return from Amazon or you can contact Badger and they supposedly ship the required part within 2 days.Overall pretty happy with these, just remember if you are going to stack them to attach them together on the back(brackets come included) and also anchor them to the wall (screws not included) because those kids will climb on it .It took me about 20 minutes to assemble solo.I bought this to use as ground storage in a coat closet... but after assembly, it's actually a little deeper than I anticipated, sturdier than expected, and cuter than I thought it would be too. Instead of using in a closet, I'm going to put it in my young son's room (matches his grey furniture... bought on Amazon too..) for book and toy storage. Will probably just order another for the closet though because for the price it's great and when we move I'll just take it and stack it on the other and have more storage in his room. Overall rating from me is actually a 4.5. The rear panel had some dog-eared corners but nothing that ends up visible. It's pretty darn easy to assemble but took me a second to determine the vertical placement of the center supports until reading ahead in the guide.Overall highly recommend it as a purchase. Fit it with a cushion on top and you have a really nice little storage bench. We bought this Shelf Storage Cubby to go with our previously purchased Three Bin Storage Cubby that my son had. It was super easy to put together and mounted easily on top of the other unit. The only 'issue' I had building it was that the back was a smidge 'off' when trying to put the board in the slots and I had to wiggle it around to get the top on it flush. After a couple of days, there was no noticeable odor of any sort - so any odor (I don't remember one) was probably the standard furniture smell that all boxed up 'build it yourself' furniture smells like. It is not too tall with the two items stacked that my son can't reach toys on top (he's 3), but it is tall enough that we were able to put a TV on it back toward the corner and he's not able to get to it. They are quite sturdy and do not seem to be a tipping hazard, but I don't think he has tried to scale them yet...a perfect match with the badger basket three bin cubbies, the badger basket shelf storage cubby with three baskets has a 1" hollow platform so that it fits down over the top of the storage bins, essentially locking it in place. this is a wonderfully thoughtful design for children's furniture and the baby proofing service only needed to strap the two bookcases to the wall instead of all four pieces.the design of the cubbies plus the three fabric drawers are also nice to corral books (upper) and smaller toys (drawers) so that you can have a complete toy storage system.i'd love for badger basket to make a version of this storage cubby without the three drawers. we need more space for tall books! the drawer cubbies are not tall enough for most small board books and the upper cubbies aren't tall enough for a lot of the children's hardcover books (e.g. The Best Word Book Ever by Richard Scarry). we turn the books on their side, but some still do not fit.
