Women from five beadwork artisan groups work on these beaded Christmas decorations for The Basket Room, living on the outskirts of Mombasa. The Maasai tribe are renowned for their intricate beaded jewellery and ornaments, and virtually all Maasai women learn and practice the craft of beadwork.
In purchasing a set of beaded tableware, you help us bring more creative work to these talented women, enabling communities to make a reliable income whilst keeping an age-old craft alive.
